Open Positions in Emporia Kansas

Responsible for the overall management of the engineering process.  This is a senior level position and is responsible for oversight and management of all aspects of plant and process engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the various aspects of the process: engineering, design, planning, and development
  • Evaluating potential alternatives to the process
  • Assisting the preparation of feasibility level capital and operating costs for production processes
  • Assisting the development of processing plans, methods, design, materials handling, manpower requirements, cost analysis and other areas as appropriate

Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in plastics or Process Engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience in leadership in a production environment

This position will be a key member of the manufacturing team responsible for but not limited to the following: new product design, development and testing, and manufacturing improvements to existing products. The individual will be the lead support to the manufacturing group for troubleshooting, continuous improvements, product test, and scrap reduction efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining technical knowledge and analysis of plastics, specifically PVC
  • Assisting with troubleshooting on new and existing products or processes
  • Acting as project manager to coordinate the manufacturing activities associated with new products; developing and executeing testing to validate new product development
  • Understanding and applying standard engineering principles
  • Monitoring quality of products and controlling the efficiency of processes
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of new equipment to improve production efficiencies

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing or Plastics Engineering; 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, experience with composite or plastic molding processes a plus
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel spreadsheets and Minitab experience preferred; proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD design and solid modeling
  • Understanding of CAM and CNC; experience in automation is a plus
  • Sheet extrusion experience preferred
  • Process troubleshooting, problem solving, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement experience required

This position is responsible for all tasks relating to the operation of our PVC Extruder.  Extruder Operators are required to follow written and verbal instruction to complete manufacturing orders.   

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Extrusion of mats within specification per written manufacturing order
  • Maintaining all documentation related to the extrusion runs, include defect logs, environmental details, QC information.
  • Maintaining adequate inventory levels of all items needed for the completion of the assigned tasks, including flagging items for re-order by purchasing
  • Responsible to quality inspections and approvals for all production departments
  • Assist in the training, evaluation and development of assigned staff

This position is responsible for basic tasks relating to the manufacture, packaging and shipment of G-Floor product.

  • Stocking G-Floor finished goods as they come off of the extrusion lines. Product may be palletized, stored on trailers or rolled flat on the plant floor.
  • Pulling G-Floor finished goods stock for shipment based on written work orders. This process requires the ability to identify the required product, verify quality and dimensions and prepare for packaging based on the specific job specifications.
  • Preparing finished goods for shipment including rolling, labeling and packaging based on written work orders. This job is responsible for final QC check as to pattern, color dimension and packaging.

This position is responsible for performing daily preventive maintenance tasks on various pieces of production equipment.  In addition to maintenance tasks, this position will perform repair tasks needed to keep the equipment operational.

  • Perform hands on maintenance and repair tasks on production equipment 
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained properly to avoid interruption of production and to minimize unnecessary downtime 
  • Perform facilities maintenance 
  • Maintain clear written records 
  • Create a safe and secure work environment
